Where is best to place your hand sanitiser stations?
Deciding where to place your hand sanitiser station is crucial. Whilst washing our hands with soap and water is the best way to ensure our hands are free of germs – this isn’t always viable. However, the solution to this is to have hand sanitiser accessible in all key areas of your workplace/school etc.
We have 5 key areas which we would recommend to place your hand sanitiser solutions.
Toilets/Bathrooms - A survey which was carried out in 2016 to more than 1,000 adults, found 67 percent of respondents admitted to skipping soap and just rinsing with water! So, providing a backup option by the sinks and doors will ensure germs don’t escape the bathrooms.
Entrances & Exits - In addition to frequently disinfecting doors, light switches, and other high-touch surfaces, make sure to provide a hand sanitising station near entrances and exits to limit the spread of infection.
Kitchens & Break rooms – This is one of the germiest hot spots within a workplace or office – so while washing our hands with soap and water is key, hand sanitising will provide that extra protection.
Workplace – High traffic areas or meeting rooms – This is a vital area to ensure is protected so that everyone feels safe and can protect themselves and others by using the accessible hand sanitiser throughout the building, whether it be in school or the workplace.
Employee Desks - Desks, phones, computer keyboards, and computer mice are key germ transfer points with people touching them so often. Employees spend the majority of their time at their desks which makes them a hotspot for germs to reside. Placing individual hand sanitizers at desks keeps hand hygiene within reach.
